Garrison Scott ~ Owner

Garrison graduated from the NY State Ranger School at Syracuse University College of Forestry. He served in the US Army from 1965 – 1967. After photographing the historic stone walls of lower NY and PA, he took a nighttime masonry class in 1977, which eventually evolved into his lifetime passion of Sticks & Stones. Garrison has built many homes and out buildings and is currently a licensed General Contractor in NC. He specializes in all kinds of masonry hardscapes and the construction of outbuildings. He is also registered land surveyor in 6 states, including the Carolinas, but his passion is in masonry and all things outdoors. Garrison is intimately involved in every project and shares the same passion with his son, with whom he has worked with him over a decade. He takes pride in his work and carefully oversees every one of his jobs, personally.

Russell Scott ~ Foreman

Russell has been in the residential hardscape & construction industry with his family in & around Raleigh since 1994.  He started out at Sticks & Stones working as a laborer, carpenter, & mason's apprentice throughout high school.  After that, he completed a pre-apprenticeship carpentry course by the NC Home Builder's Association, a Keystone Retaining Wall Systems Installation course with his father, and continued the hardscape trade.  After graduation, he left Sticks & Stones to join with his brother in the fire department as well as his side business doing similar hardscape work.  With his brother, he worked as a patio & wall installer, mason, and carpenter, and branching out to renovate historic houses in downtown Raleigh.  For one of their renovations, he and his crew won the "Anthemion Award for Historic Excellence" by Capital Area Preservation.  Years later, he came back to Sticks & Stones to become Foreman for a small team of stone masons.  Again with Sticks & Stones, Russell completed the Residential Concrete Paver Installer Course by ICPI, (Interlocking Concrete Paver Institute) the governing body who sets the standards for industry best practices.

Russell has been involved in carpentry, masonry, and repair work his whole adult life.  He has an attention to detail and a passion for quality that set him apart from many others in the business, and has earned him the trust of many happy customers.
